Commissioner reports winter operations and airport delays; committee approves large voucher amounts

County Highway Commissioner Roger Petrick told the committee that he and three committee members will attend winter road school in La Crosse next week and discussed potential projects on Hwy J and Hwy N estimated at $250,000–$260,000, split 90/10.
Staff reported 21 winter storms so far in the 2025–2026 season and discussed remaining salt and sand for winter road maintenance. Airport staff said the loader truck they ordered is being held in Wausau with no update; hangar surveys and a Buildings Fixtures and Improvements project were reported complete. Dam inspections were reported in good condition.
The committee approved vouchers moved by Jordan Spacek and seconded by Paula Houdek for Sept. 2025 ($107,693.07), Oct. 2025 ($114,669.14), Nov. 2025 ($3,060,971.64), and Dec. 2025 ($911,695.29). The next meeting was set for March 4, 2026, and Chair Larry Palecek adjourned the meeting at 10:17 a.m.
