Administrator: Red Oak fire truck back in service; station well and septic pending

Administrator Roger E. Riley reported to Barnwell County Council that the Red Oak Fire Department has one truck back in operation and another vehicle remains in the shop. "Everything is completed except the well and septic tank," Riley said, and the county has notified ISO to get the truck back into service.
Councilman Harold Buckmon asked about the small cleared area for parking after the county purchased two acres of land; Riley said more clearing is possible but surfacing (rocking) would be an expense not included in the original budget. Chairman Houston and Councilman Travis Hooper both thanked Riley and staff for getting the truck into operation while noting additional site work may be funded later.
