Council approves temporary clerk contract, reappoints Alexander, and recognizes Vernon Grady

Barnwell County Council voted on several personnel and appointment items at its Jan. 13 meeting. Council approved a temporary contract for Ms. Elaine Ferguson to assist in the Administrator's office; the motion was made by Councilman David Kenner and seconded by Councilman Travis Hooper. The council also moved to reappoint Councilman Daniel Alexander to the Southern Carolina Alliance Board of Directors, and appointed Curtis Hogg to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) Board of the Lower Savannah Council of Governments. Each motion carried.
In a separate ceremonial action, Chairman Freddie L. Houston Sr. read and presented a resolution recognizing Vernon "Pete" Franklin Grady Sr. for his service to the county and the Economic Development Board; the resolution was accepted by his daughter. Council members expressed appreciation for Mr. Grady's contributions. The council adjourned at the conclusion of business.
