The Vernon County Board on Sept. 18 approved Resolution 2025-51 to reprogram $14,915 of Ho-Chunk funds to cover the down payment for materials on a proposed Emergency Management equipment storage building. Admin Coordinator Hannan presented the request and said the funds came from previously identified Ho-Chunk allocations.
The resolution states that Buildings and Facilities remitted $14,915 to secure a bid from Hartje Lumber for the project and that the finance department recommended assigning prior-year Ho-Chunk funding to cover those startup costs. The motion to adopt the budget amendment was made by Supervisor Olson and seconded by Supervisor Pedretti; Chair Lorn Goede called the question and the board adopted the amendment by voice vote.
The resolution directs the reprogramming of $14,915 from account 88.00024.8958 for Emergency Management shed start-up costs. Supervisor Kay Stanek noted the Finance Committee is placing a hold on other Ho-Chunk funds pending clarity on the overall budget.
