Supervisors set compensation for 2026 2028 term, direct committee to define chair duties

Clerk Pedretti presented Resolution 2025-54, which sets the County Board meeting compensation for the 2026 2028 term. Under the resolution the board meeting pay is set at $80 per meeting, committee and commission meetings at $50 per meeting, and the County Board Chair would receive an annual stipend of $8,580 (monthly installments of $715) effective April 21, 2026.
Supervisor Slack asked whether a list of duties and responsibilities for the County Board Chair exists to justify the additional stipend; the board directed the General Government committee to draft a chair duties statement for future board review. The resolution was adopted by voice vote.
The minutes cite Wis. Stat. Section 59.10 (in the resolution text) as the statutory authority allowing the board to fix compensation by two-thirds vote of all members. The action sets compensation for the next elected term but allows supervisors to reject payment in writing to the county clerk.
