The Vernon County Board adopted Resolution 2026-20 to amend the 2026 budget and carry over $55,730 from the 2025 highway department capital budget for equipment ordered but not yet received. Highway Commissioner Hewitt explained the equipment was budgeted in 2025 but delivery was delayed, and the board approved the carryover by voice vote.
In the Administrative Coordinator's report, Hanan provided several operational updates: a DNR feasibility-study submittal process for the landfill, clarification that recent airspace calculations freed roughly 15,000 cubic yards of space after review, and confirmation that a new generator had been successfully installed at the Erlandson building. Hanan also thanked the highway department for snowstorm work, noted IT account lockouts tied to annual security training, and said a search for a replacement Administrative Coordinator is posted with GenGov to review applicants at its April 1 meeting.
The board adopted the carryover and received the administrative updates; staff will follow up where additional information is required.
