The Vernon County Board unanimously approved Resolution 2026-02 on Jan. 20 to adopt recommended rural functional classification (FC) changes for county roads. Highway Commissioner Hewitt presented the resolution, which includes additional road reclassifications developed jointly with WisDOT planning staff and previously reviewed by the Infrastructure Committee.
The resolution notes that, after local approval, WisDOT will submit the changes to the Federal Highway Administration for final approval and that the approved final FC map will be provided to Vernon County. Supervisor Strudthoff moved adoption and Supervisor Schweiger seconded; Chair Lorn Goede called the question and the resolution was adopted by voice vote.
