Vernon County board amends rules to allow committees to receive presentations without quorum

The Vernon County Board of Supervisors on Jan. 20 adopted Resolution 2026-01, revising board rules to let committees receive information from speakers or presentations even when a quorum is not present. Administrative Coordinator Hanan presented the change and Supervisor Kilmer moved to adopt the resolution; Supervisor Olson seconded and Chair Lorn Goede called the question.
The resolution also adds a written remonstrance requirement and updates references to the county website. According to the resolution language submitted for consideration, the board will "amend section 5 to clarify a committee’s ability to receive information from a speaker or presentation even if a quorum of the committee is not present." The motion passed on a voice vote with all members present voting in favor.
