Staff says Garland facade grant can be adapted to support historic sign preservation

She told the committee the city could also consider a separate purchase program if acquisition turned out to be necessary.
Committee members asked whether historic signage could be funded through the existing grant or whether a different mechanism was more appropriate. Ayako said staff will incorporate historic signage into the façade grant application language once the GDC is amended, and they are open to evaluating a stand‑alone purchase program if owners decline participation in a matching scheme.
