The Board approved an estimate from Nett's Electric to update courtroom lighting and add electrical receptacles under courtroom desks; the minutes note that the projects can be submitted to the Court Facilities Grant program for a 75/25 cost share and that the application deadline is May 31, 2026. Custodian Chad Schmidt also informed the Board of the need to replace a water tank and a chemical tank in the courthouse boiler room, though the minutes do not include a replacement estimate.
Separately, the Board approved a $35,000 proposal from Kingdom Builders to remove debris from the old hospital. The Department of Environmental Quality will proceed with asbestos abatement after debris removal, and the county noted a Brownfields grant will cover asbestos-abatement costs. The board voted unanimously on both the courthouse electrical estimate and the debris-removal contract.
