Mountrail County approves SRF Consulting contract to draft data center and battery storage policy

At its Nov. 7 meeting, Mountrail County commissioners approved an SRF Consulting contract for policy work on data centers and battery storage facilities with a contract total of $34,413.04. Planning & Zoning Administrator and Recorder Melissa Vachal presented the contract and the motion passed on roll call.
The board also approved the 2025 Planning & Zoning application fees with one change: the industrial building permit fee was increased from $350 to $500. Recorder Vachal’s request to attend the PRIA conference in March 2025 in San Antonio, Texas was approved with travel expenses charged to the Document Preservation Fund.
