Mountrail County approves closure of section line in Myrtle Township

The Mountrail County Board opened a public hearing at 9:30 A.M. on Oct. 15 to consider closing the section line running between Section 17 and Section 18 in Township 156 North, Range 94 West (Myrtle Township). The legal description begins at the SW corner of the SE¼NW¼ of Section 18 and proceeds northerly along the existing section line to the point intersecting with U.S. Highway 2.
No members of the public attended the hearing; the closure had been published Sept. 25 and Oct. 2. Comm. Jason Rice moved to approve the section line closing and Comm. Wayne Olson seconded; on roll call Olson, Hollekim, DeGroot, Ruland and Rice voted yes and the motion carried.
The minutes record the legal description and the board’s action but do not contain survey maps or details about subsequent property access changes; those materials would be maintained in county land records.
