During the superintendent’s report July 28, Dr. Roshe told the committee that the governor had filed a supplemental FY2027 budget that would provide a one-time $112 per student above Chapter 70 funding if enacted.
"It will provide an additional $112 per student above and beyond the chapter 70 allocation," he said, adding the district’s share would be "roughly $300,000 to Longmeadow Public Schools." He cautioned the committee that the proposal still must move through the legislature and that the district will convene a finance subcommittee to consider how to apply any funds that are ultimately received.
Dr. Roshe also noted staff are preparing communications about a Chromebook protection plan that would let families pay a modest fee to protect devices against damage claims; more details will be provided in future meetings.
