Chair Kohn Fisher called the special meeting of the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners to order at 4:02 p.m. on Aug. 14, 2024, and said the purpose was to open proposals submitted in response to the county's Central Dispatch (911) RFP. Present for the record were Commissioners Robert Baldwin, Scott Matley, Jeff Sieting and James Sweet, County Administrator David Schaeffer and Deputy County Clerk Alex McCaffrey.
The deputy clerk recorded multiple vendors and line items. Bid items logged included console/call-system proposals, dispatch furniture options, and Nextgen recording-system quotes. The board noted it would review the submissions at additional sessions scheduled Aug. 22, Aug. 26 and Aug. 28 to verify subscription and second‑year costs and to consider any required clarifications before taking action.
