County approves updated Children's Justice Center contract pending legal review; FY2027 funding increases to $303,399

Shelley Wright told the commission she did not yet have the finalized, signed contract but summarized key scope changes for the Children's Justice Center agreement with the Utah Attorney General's Office, including required trauma-informed training for mental-health providers and a funding increase. "The funding we will be receiving for fiscal year 2027 is more than we received last year, which is 303,399," Wright said, and added the award will support the center’s staff including the forensic interviewer and therapist.
Wright also noted the contract will require the attorney general’s office logo and an acknowledgment on printed and digital materials. Commissioners moved to approve the contract subject to review by the county attorney's office and Commissioner Martinez's sign-off; the motion passed by voice vote and staff said they would circulate the finalized document when available.
