Commission approves scaled-back hourly agreement with Utah Regional Growth Association

Carbon County switched its longtime economic services contract to an hourly arrangement with the Utah Regional Growth Association to reflect reduced use while retaining access to development assistance; commissioners voted to approve the change.
Shani Wilson told commissioners Carbon County has worked with the organization (formerly a different corporate name) for years and now proposes moving from a lump-sum annual payment to an hourly arrangement because the county uses fewer services. "We've been providing help and services for a long time...we are proposing now just an hourly rate for their services," Wilson said.
Commissioners said the group had been helpful in the past on infrastructure and economic development and supported reducing the payment structure to save county funds while retaining access to expertise. A motion to approve the economic services agreement with the Utah Regional Growth Association passed by voice vote.
