Commission adopts ordinance to rezone Upper Miller Creek parcel for two-lot split

Todd Thorn (S13) explained the request to change the zoning map for Parcel 02-2270-0004 (Larry Thomas) from mining and grazing (MG) to RR-1 (residential 1 acre) to permit a two-lot subdivision on Upper Miller Creek Road. "This zone change is for Larry Thomas...He wants to just divide it in 0.5 and have a lot for himself and...a lot for his son or daughter," Thorn said, and noted the planning commission saw no questions and that a fire hydrant has been installed to meet distance requirements.
Commissioner Jensen moved to adopt Ordinance 595 to rezone the parcel, the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Thorn said the owner must transfer two water shares at the time of building permit and has septic approval; the rezoning advances the requested two-lot division conditioned on those requirements.
