Commission ratifies application for EMS equipment grant to replace training mannequins

Justin Needles reported that the county had applied for a Bureau of Emergency Medical Services competitive grant (deadline already passed) and asked the commission to ratify the submission. He said the application requests $53,800 to replace training mannequins and training equipment that are more than 20 years old. "I asked for $53,800. We'll see what comes of it. ... But it's a 100% grant, no cost to the county," Justin said.
Commissioners thanked Justin for pursuing grant opportunities and moved to ratify and approve the application. The motion was seconded and recorded as passed; Justin said award decisions are expected to be announced in June or July.
