Commissioners discussed a mitigation project in the Carbonville area that the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has approved for funding and engineering support. The next step is to retain an engineering firm to design the mitigation work; the county requested qualifications-only proposals with the expectation that NRCS pays engineers directly for design work.
County staff listed three proposers—Jones & DeMille, Keller Associates, and Johansen & Tuttle—and Commissioner Jensen moved to acknowledge those submissions and allow County Engineer Lincoln and Emergency Response Coordinator Justin Needles to evaluate the firms and move forward with the best option; Commissioner Martinez seconded and the motion passed on voice vote.
