Embry Wetzel of the Price City Youth Council proposed a "Paws in the Park" adoption day to bring shelter animals to a central location in town and increase adoptions. Wetzel said the event would not require county funding and requested only permission to use Washington Park and guidance on rules and liability.
Commissioners and a county representative asked Wetzel to submit a written proposal describing the expected logistics, frequency and how animals would be handled for liability purposes. Wetzel told the commission the council would prepare details and follow up; one county representative said, "If it's every month, and what that would be for us, you know, because we would have to have dogs or cats or whatever you're adopting ready to go."
