Staff explained the Cherry Lane vacate action formalizes an earlier abandonment and confirms that two existing homes retain access rights to the rear of their properties while the vacated portion becomes private maintenance responsibility: "This would remove it from the county's ownership and maintenance would would turn over to those folks for maintenance," staff said. Commissioner Martinez moved to adopt Ordinance 593 and the motion passed.
On the quitclaim deed, staff said the sliver was originally deeded to the county to enlarge a cul-de-sac for bus turnarounds and that changing conditions now allow returning the parcel so the homeowner can legally subdivide. Commissioner Jensen moved to approve the quitclaim to Terry McKendrick (with Norman McKendrick also listed on the deed due to a trust); the motion passed.
