County presents 'Heart and Character' and Main Street awards to local volunteers, tourism official

McKenna Terry presented the new Carbon County Heart and Character Award on behalf of the Care Coalition of Carbon County, explaining the nomination process and criteria and directing residents to careforcarbon.org to submit nominations. "This award is going to be to honor those in our community who are making an impact by just their small, simple, kind acts, integrity, honesty," Terry said.
The commission presented four recipients, with Derek (speaker 5) and other community members praising recipients for youth programming and coaching that benefits children with disabilities. Megan Marshall, representing the Price Downtown District, introduced Carrie Richardson as the state's 2025 Utah Main Street Outstanding Volunteer and said Richardson has led downtown events and beautification efforts for 23 years. Chair and commissioners thanked the recipients and invited brief remarks and a photo opportunity.
