At the Sept. 11 special meeting, the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners voted to award the 911 phone system contract to Central Square for $357,127.20.
Commissioner David Comai moved to award the phone system contract; Commissioner Jeff Sieting supported the motion. The board approved the award by roll call vote, 7-0.
The phone system was presented by Sheriff Whiteford as part of a package of bids evaluated for fit to county needs, product suitability, and affordability. Contract execution and vendor coordination will be managed by the county administrator following required approvals.
