Superintendent Wayne Wormstead briefed the board on the districtwide employee experience survey: 217 staff responded and the district mean score was 3.77 on a 1–5 scale. He described top items—staff reporting their work positively impacts those they serve and feeling pride in their workplace—and flagged three lower-scoring items for improvement: allocation of district‑level resources (mean 3.18), balancing work responsibilities, and district culture supporting open and honest communication. "We had 217 participants, and we had an overall mean score of 3.77 as our first‑year baseline," Wormstead said.
Administration proposed a process to translate survey findings into targeted action plans: identify two to three priorities, form small focus groups (using TAC and building leaders), and run brief follow‑up questions to clarify ambiguous or non‑actionable comments. The goal is incremental, measurable improvement over multiple years rather than a one‑off response. The board discussed benchmarking options, participation decline from prior surveys, and how to translate open‑ended comments into actionable items.
