Wold Engineering representatives updated the Board on three bridge projects during meetings Feb. 3 and Feb. 17. Jason Mayfield reported the Carpio bridge replacement will be put out for bid in April with an anticipated mid‑summer start date. Kent Indvik told commissioners the Pleasant Bridge removal has been approved for funding through the Flexible Transportation Fund—Grants for Bridges program but that the county will be responsible for preliminary engineering costs. Indvik also said the White Ash Township bridge is fully funded by the state and the county must issue a Request for Proposals for construction engineering.
Commissioners did not record a formal vote to commit additional county funding beyond the preliminary engineering obligation for Pleasant Bridge in the minutes; next steps identified were preparing the RFP for White Ash and monitoring the April bid opening for Carpio.
