County staff updated the committee on ongoing efforts to collect unpaid 2022 property taxes through the in-rem process. The minutes state the in-rem action covers more than 70 parcels; roughly half of those titles have returned from title work and about 15 are small "sliver" parcels identified during recent assessments.
The county reported the third land auction (covering 2019'021 in-rem parcels) concluded with one remaining unsold parcel. Parcel tax ID #5164 sold for $26,750. For the unsold parcel tax ID #23518 located in the city of Park Falls, Supervisor Jeff Hallstrand moved and Alan Barkstrom seconded a motion to set the starting auction price at $500.00; the motion carried.
