Board approves election results, pledge report and financials; notes passing of Don Heiser

At the Jan. 21 meeting the board approved several routine governance items by voice vote. Vice President Brian Buckman moved to approve the 2025 Board Election results; Sandy Baertsch seconded and the motion passed with all present members in favor. Earlier, the board had approved the December 2025 minutes by motion of Brian Buckman and second by Kasey Malkowski.
Later in the meeting Sandy Baertsch presented a Quarterly Pledge Report from 1st State Bank; Secretary Treasurer Corey Simnioniw moved to approve the report with Brian Buckman seconding and the motion carried. Dwayne Shypkoski moved to approve the financial statement and pay bills; Kasey Malkowski seconded and that motion also passed. The board adjourned after a motion by Dwayne and second by Sandy. Members also noted with regret the passing of Don Heiser; Julie Reis sent flowers and a condolence note on behalf of the Billings County RFPD.
