District readies new grass unit and Medora tender with Farm Credit grant support

Billings County RFPD leaders reported unit 9103 is finished as a grass unit for Fryburg and Medora’s tender fittings have arrived; the cost of fittings and 9103 outfitting will be covered by a Farm Credit Services grant with a check expected in February.
Billings County Rural Fire Protection District officials said on Jan. 21 that unit 9103 has been completed as a grass unit to serve Fryburg and is awaiting pickup. Fire Chief Kyle Shockley said either Garrett Kessel or he will arrange the transfer in the coming weeks, and the district will outfit 9103 with the items already ordered.
Chief Shockley also reported that new tender fittings for the Medora station have arrived. He told the board the cost of those fittings and the items ordered to equip 9103 will be covered by a Farm Credit Services grant; a grant check is expected to be issued in February. The board discussed logistics but took no additional formal action at the meeting.
