During the Jan. 28 meeting several members of the public addressed the board during the public comment periods. Craig Cotterman raised concerns about Hyfi reporting and USGS readings for Houghton Lake, and later again referenced Hyfi data and the Houghton Lake operations manual. Rhonda Barnhart voiced concerns about the meeting time change, data centers and RCTA employment openings. Commenter Dave Bisbee also addressed USGS and Hyfi issues. Dave Denboer used the public-comment period to express appreciation for the board, county departments, law enforcement and Emergency Management.
Board Chair Darlene Sensor acknowledged public input and later thanked Clerk/ROD Michelle M. Stevenson and Treasurer Dankert, saying she appreciated their work coordinating employee recognition. No formal policy changes resulted directly from the public comments recorded in the minutes; the comments were noted for the record and relevant staff were referenced for follow-up where appropriate.
The transcript records the topics raised by commenters but does not include extended verbatim statements in some entries; the board did not take immediate action at the Jan. 28 meeting in response to these public comments.
