Daggett County Commission approves routine financial registers, hears housing and tourism updates

The Daggett County Commission met Jan. 6, 2026 in the Commission Chambers in Manila and via electronic participation. Commissioner Matt Tippets opened the meeting at 9:08 a.m., and the three commissioners approved routine business including the Dec. 23, 2025 minutes and multiple financial registers and disbursement lists.
Commissioner Jack Lytle moved to accept the Dec. 23, 2025 minutes; Commissioner Randy Asay seconded and the motion carried. The board acknowledged the Cash Summary and Accounts Receivable reports dated Jan. 2, 2026. The commission approved the county Open Invoice Register dated Jan. 5, 2026 in the amount of $36,195.45 and the RDA Open Invoice Register dated Jan. 5, 2026 for $56,000.00; a disbursement listing for Zion’s Checking totaling $124,459.31 was also approved, and a reimbursement register for Dec. 7–Dec. 20, 2025 in the amount of $332.20 was accepted.
The meeting included brief staff reports: the RDA/MBA projects are moving forward, the Self Help Housing Program is recruiting participants, and tourism staff reported event registration for the upcoming Burbot Bash. The commission discussed scheduling and asked the county attorney to research whether proposed workshop times must be on the record. The board entered a closed session at 11:47 a.m. to discuss lease, purchase or exchange of real property and returned to open session at 12:35 p.m., adjourning at 12:37 p.m.
