County updates on Houghton, Higgins and Lake St. Helen control-structure work; bid noted for gate fix

At the Jan. 14 meeting staff updated the board on ongoing lake-control projects. For Houghton Lake staff reported that gate sizes have been determined and engineering drawings are being prepared, and that inspection reports have been completed and submitted to the State. No USGS update was available.
For Higgins Lake staff said an email was sent to the Advisory Board to schedule an in-person meeting at a later date. A bid to fix an extension on a gate—recorded in the minutes at $7,500—was noted. The minutes also state that a water budget study has been completed. Lake St. Helen had no additional updates beyond prior work-session discussion.
