The Box Elder County Redevelopment Agency (RDA) voted to renew contract number 2501 with the Box Elder Chamber of Commerce to continue business expansion and retention services.
A presenter from the Chamber told the RDA the contract "is the exact same" as before and that the work includes conducting business visits, planning the business summit, running career fairs at both high schools and coordinating tours for visiting officials. The presenter said funding will support an economic dashboard: "it's about 6,500 a year to have the dashboard on, and we're gonna be receiving 6,000 from the county," and that the county logo on the dashboard will link to the county website.
The renewal motion was recorded by the clerk as moved by Commissioner Perry and seconded by Commissioner Vincent; the clerk asked "All in favor?" and announced "Aye" with the motion carrying. The presenter noted the only change in the contract text was the name on the county signature block and offered to sign if present and to provide an official copy to county staff.
The vote keeps in place the Chamber's role in business outreach in Box Elder County and funds an online county economic dashboard, supported in part by a rural county grant. The RDA did not discuss any amendments to the contract during the meeting. The county chair will sign the executed agreement and copies will be distributed to county staff.
