Council reviewed an ordinance enacting compensation increases for executive municipal officers. Finance staff explained that Senate Bill 91 requires public notice when elected officials and executives receive compensation increases and presented recommended ranges.
Charles Lowe said most staff and council positions were proposed to receive a 2.6% cost-of-living adjustment plus a 2% performance component. For the city manager, Lowe said a separate review recommended a 6% increase, a $1,000 bonus and a $150 monthly car allowance based on duties and prior review.
Council opened the public hearing portion of the ordinance, heard no public comments, and then voted to adopt the ordinance (O-06-16-2026A) approving the recommended compensation updates for the FY2026–27 budget.
