Chair asked about an interlocal agreement the county had discussed; Shauna said district general counsel had sent terms to county counsel and that outstanding questions remained. "We have not found any counties and school boards that have done similar agreements," Shauna said, requesting more information from the county on the examples they referenced.
A committee member said he had identified an interlocal agreement in another county and planned to contact the county manager for copies of any agreements the county had been reviewing. Board members discussed that if an interlocal agreement covered certain classroom teacher payments, the district could remove the teacher assistant line from local assignment and would still need to account for charter-school eligibility, which Shauna estimated at about 11% of the local budget. The committee asked staff and county counsel to expedite information so the committee could meet later in the week if needed.
