City Manager Patrick Goff presented the city’s 2026 midyear budget update, reporting that general fund revenues are roughly 99% of budget expectations and that sales tax revenues are performing above expectations (about 3.3% higher than last year to date). Use tax collections lag current projections because some large projects and permit timing shifted; grant revenues remain ahead of expectations.
On the expenditure side, the city is spending about $4.5 million less than projected so far—largely because of a mild winter that reduced snow-related maintenance and fuel costs. Goff said the fund balance is projected to end the year at about 23% against a 25% target. Staff will continue monitoring revenues and expenditures and bring further budget materials as they prepare the 2027 budget.
