Wheat Ridge council enters executive session on Concrete Works Colorado contract dispute; no council action required afterward

At the July 27 meeting the Wheat Ridge City Council voted to enter an executive session to consult with the city manager, city attorney and special counsel regarding a contract dispute between the city and Concrete Works Colorado related to the improved Wadsworth project. The motion cited the city charter and CRS 24-6-402(4)(b) as the legal basis for the closed-session discussion.
Mayor Pro Tem moved for the executive session and the motion passed 8–0. The city attorney later reported to the council that no action was required at this time and that any necessary actions would be returned to council for consideration. “Any action that I would need in the future I will bring back to the council for its consideration,” the city attorney said. The council then adjourned the regular meeting and proceeded to the study session.
