The Roscommon County Board of Commissioners voted to adopt the 2026 Board Rules during the Jan. 28 meeting, amending the regular meeting start time to 9:00 a.m. and scheduling work sessions at 10:00 a.m. Commissioners agreed to add language that would make it expected (but not legally mandatory) that county‑funded committees present biannually to the board to explain how Roscommon funds are used.
A motion to adopt the rules, with an amendment specifying the new format begins Feb. 11, 2026, was moved and seconded and passed by roll call. Commissioners said the proposed rule change is intended to increase transparency and allow the board to ask questions in person; one commissioner emphasized the rule governs board expectations rather than forcing outside agencies to attend.
