Agency summarizes short session: one ERB priority bill signed, most tracked measures stalled

Kate, policy and rules staff, told the board the agency produced 154 bill analyses this short session and that most high-priority measures did not complete the legislative process. "This is actually more bills that were analyzed this short session than we had in the long session," she said, describing the heavy analytic workload and short turnarounds for fiscal notes.
Kate identified House Bill 1069 as the ERB-led priority that ultimately passed and was signed into law; she described it as relating to bargaining for supplemental retiree benefits for certain Department of Corrections employees. She also summarized other tracked bills that reached late stages but did not pass this session and said staff are preparing concept and briefing papers for potential agency-request legislation next year.
