Arbor Hills Landfill official tells commissioners corrective actions resolved concerns raised in Conservancy Initiative post

Greg Werner, director of wastewater treatment for GFL, responded to a Conservancy Initiative blog post and described March 25 emergency operations at the landfill's leachate treatment plant. Werner said the company performed emergency repairs, notified the Ypsilanti County sewer authority and provided sampling, and that subsequent corrective actions meant no further enforcement was required: "Yuka was knowledgeable of the situation at the time... We were transparent with them," he said.
Werner said a second claim—that the March 25 event caused a discharge violation on May 14—was not supported and that GFL would submit a formal letter to the county providing additional context and corrective-action details.
