The Washington County Commission began its Feb. 9, 2026 meeting by amending the agenda. Commissioner Richard Tucker moved (seconded by Jerome Fitzgerald) to remove Resolution 26-01-01 from the agenda and move that item to the Feb. 25 meeting; that motion passed unanimously. The commission also voted to suspend rules and add a new-business item.
Under new business the commission considered moving the BWXT rezoning from the Feb. 25 meeting to March 23. A motion to approve the change passed by roll call with 11 in favor and 4 opposed. Commissioners recorded as voting for the change were Tucker, Marty Johnson, Fitzgerald, Bryan Davenport, Larry England, Freddie Malone, David Stout, David Tomita, Lewis Wexler, Kenneth Huffine and Jim Wheeler. Commissioners recorded as voting against were Josh Edens, Chairman Greg Matherly, Jodi Jones and Ben Carder.
The transcript records the rescheduling vote totals and the agenda amendments; it does not include the content of public comment or detailed rationale offered on the record for or against rescheduling, other than the recorded votes and that the item will now appear on the March 23 agenda.
