Commission authorizes auction or bid sales of surplus sheriff's vehicles and equipment

Henry County commissioners on Sept. 16 approved Resolution 10-9-24 authorizing the sale of surplus property declared by the Henry County Sheriff's Department. Commissioner Charles Elizondo moved the resolution and Commissioner Kenneth Humphreys seconded; the motion carried 15–0.
The surplus list submitted by the Sheriff's Department includes multiple older patrol vehicles (2002–2014 Ford Crown Victorias and other models), a 2014 Polaris Ranger, two 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, a set of chrome rims and assorted maintenance equipment. The resolution authorizes the sheriff’s office to sell the listed items at auction or by sealed bid and to report results to the County Commission as required by county policy.
