Floyd County EMS Advisory Council approves agenda, passes tax-request motion and adjourns

The Floyd County EMS Advisory Council convened a special meeting on Aug. 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. The council approved the meeting agenda on a motion recorded as made by Dave Luett and seconded by Dawn Staudt.
During the meeting, members discussed the Board of Supervisors’ earlier decision to reject the council’s recommendation to seek $669,000 annually for 10 years. The council then passed a motion, made by Dawn Staudt and seconded by Dawnett Willis, requesting that the Board collect a property-tax levy up to $0.69 per $1,000 of assessed valuation, capped at $669,000 annually and proposed for up to five years. The meeting record notes that the next meeting will be scheduled after the Board of Supervisors acts on the request.
A motion to adjourn was made by Dawnett Willis and seconded by Dawn Staudt; the meeting was adjourned.
