Palo Alto County approves permit-waiver resolutions for two pork operations

The Palo Alto County Board of Supervisors adopted two permit-waiver resolutions at its Jan. 27, 2026 meeting. On a motion by Ron Graettinger, seconded by Craig Merrill, the board introduced and passed Resolution 1-27-2026 authorizing a waiver for Summit Pork I, LLP at the Vernon 2 site. The minutes record the motion passed with ayes from Faulstick, Merrill, Graettinger, Wirtz and Solberg.
The board immediately considered a related item and on motion by Graettinger, seconded by Merrill adopted Resolution 1-27-2026(A) granting a permit waiver for Ample Farms LLP at the Brink Site, Ellington 32. The motions were recorded in sequence in the board minutes and both resolutions were listed as passed.
