The Floyd County Board of Supervisors convened for its annual organizational meeting on Jan. 2, 2026, and approved its agenda before conducting leadership elections. Gloria A. Carr was appointed chairperson for 2026 by board motion; the minutes record the motion carried 3-0. Frank Rottinghaus was later appointed vice chair to conduct meetings in the chair’s absence; that appointment carried 2-1 with Supervisor Boyd Campbell recorded as opposed.
The board approved the Dec. 23, 2025 meeting minutes and set regular board meetings for Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. in the courthouse board room, subject to change. The board also designated the Charles City Press and the Nora Springs-Rockford Register as the official Floyd County newspapers under Iowa Code 349.1; that motion carried 3-0. The session concluded routine organizational items before moving to appointments and resolutions later in the day.
