Cleveland County courthouse to close Jan. 9 for National Day of Mourning for former President Jimmy Carter

The Cleveland County Board of County Commissioners approved notice that the Cleveland County Courthouse will be closed on Jan. 9, 2025, in observance of the National Day of Mourning for former President Jimmy Carter; normal business will resume Jan. 10, 2025. The notice was approved unanimously at the Jan. 6 meeting.
During announcements, Chairman Rod Cleveland referenced that Congress had certified the 2024 election and that the presidential inauguration was scheduled for Jan. 20, 2025. There were no public comments during the meeting. The board adjourned at 1:06 p.m.
