Dinwiddie Board names Brenda Ebron-Bonner chair and Casey Dooley vice-chair for 2026

The Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors appointed Brenda Ebron-Bonner as Chair for calendar year 2026 and Casey M. Dooley as Vice-Chair during its organizational meeting on Jan. 6, 2026.
County Administrator W. Kevin Massengill opened nominations for chair; Dr. Mark E. Moore nominated Brenda Ebron-Bonner and no other nominations were offered. A motion to appoint Ebron-Bonner passed after a second by William D. Chavis. The minutes record the vote as AYES from Dooley, Moore, Chavis and Lee, with Mrs. Ebron-Bonner recorded as abstaining. The appointment resolution states Ebron-Bonner will serve "for the year 2026, or until she resigns, is unable to hold office, or until a successor assumes office."
Mr. Lee then opened nominations for vice-chair. Mr. Chavis nominated Casey M. Dooley; the Board approved the appointment on a motion by Dr. Moore, seconded by Mr. Chavis. The minutes show AYES from Moore, Chavis, Lee and Ebron-Bonner and an abstention by Mr. Dooley on the vice-chair vote.
The appointments were made as part of routine organizational business at the start of the calendar year; the meeting convened at 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
