District staff said the chiller work in the 2025 bond program was split into four bid packages so multiple design‑build contractors could work simultaneously across campuses. Jorge Jarrett said the split was intended to avoid delays to installation and to accelerate work district‑wide.
"In this particular, bond 2025, we have a total of 57 chillers that we're purchasing for the school district," Jarrett said, adding the voters approved roughly $17.9 million for that part of the bond. He explained the district purchased chilled equipment already (noted in the presentation as approximately $890,000) and then divided the installation schedule into phases so teams could work in parallel. Jarrett also said staff will present GMPs for the remaining bid packages and a detailed schedule to the board at future meetings.
