Board hires outside counsel for assessor litigation

Commissioner Ken Doke moved and the board approved a Professional Legal Services Contract engaging O'Hara & Adams, PLLC to represent the County Assessor in litigation arising from a Board of Equalization matter.
Assessor Ron Dean told the board the district attorney requested outside counsel to handle the lawsuit related to the assessor's office. "No, it's based on the lawsuit that was filed based on the Board of Equalization hearing. And our DA's request that outside counsel be hired," Dean said. The contract lists hourly rates for the firm; the board approved the contract unanimously.
