The Muskogee County Board approved a Medical Provider Agreement on July 13 to engage Lester M. Keathley, APRN, FNP, to serve as the medical provider for the Muskogee County Detention Center at a rate of $6,000 per month.
Undersheriff Greg Martin told commissioners the provider had not received a July payment and urged that the payment be made as soon as possible: "There is one thing with that one. We were supposed to pay him July 1st. He has not received his July payment." County Clerk Polly Irving and commissioners discussed that pay rates and contract years had changed midstream and said they would coordinate with the district attorney's office and payroll to avoid auditor issues. Commissioner Kenny Payne noted prior discussion with the district attorney about overpayments and clerical remedies.
The motion to approve the contract was unanimous. The board directed staff to resolve outstanding payment questions with the DA's office and the clerk to ensure the county's payment and contract records are consistent.
