Commissioner O’Keefe elected 2026 Board Chair; King chosen Vice Chair

The Le Sueur County Board of Commissioners elected Commissioner Danny O’Keefe as the Board’s 2026 chair and Commissioner John King as vice chair during its Jan. 6 reorganizational meeting. Administrator Joe Martin called for nominations; O’Keefe was nominated and the motion to cease nominations passed before the vote.
The elections followed formal motions: King moved to nominate O’Keefe for chair and Rohlfing seconded; subsequent motions to cease nominations and to elect were carried unanimously. The Board also approved the meeting agenda for the day on a motion by King and second by Preisler.
The board’s reorganization establishes leadership and committee continuity as the board moves into the 2026 calendar year; next scheduled meeting is Jan. 20, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
